The second stop on our Northern Uppland trip was the small town of Lövstabruk. Apparently because of it being so secluded from the rest of the world hardly anyone lives there during wintertime, but it is very nice to live there during summer as many retired people do. After a wonderful picnic we took a tour of the beautiful manor house that for generations used to be owned by De Geer family. Now, it is part of a foundation and used as a museum and a place where a lot of weddings take place. Apparently De Geer family is still very rich and powerful in Sweden, and the heiress just started attending Uppsala University this year.
